It goes something like "Amy what you wanna do, I think I stay with you for a while maybe longer if I..."

This song has been stuck in my head all night since they played it at work. Thanks

Amie-Pure Prairie League

The correct spelling is Amie and not Amy. It's was originally done by the Pure Praiire League. It's not Allman Brothers Band (to spell it Allmond is a crime) or Marshall Tucker Band or Little River Band

Amie
Originally performed by Pure Prairie League

I can see why you think you belong to me.
I never tried to make you think,
Or let you see one thing for your self.
But now your off with someone else and I'm alone.
You see I thought that I might keep you for my own.
Well I guess I was wrong.

Amie what you wanna do, I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do.

Don't you think the time is right for us to find
All the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time
And can't you see, which way we should turn together or alone
I can never see what's right or what is wrong

Amie what you wanna do, I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do.

Now it's come to what you want you've had your way
And all the things you thought before just faded into gray
And can you see, That I don't know if its you or if its me
If its one of us I'm sure we'll both will see
So take a good long look and tell me...

Amie what you wanna do, I think I could stay with you,
For a while, maybe longer if I do.
I'd just keep...
Falling in and out of love with you
Falling in and out of love with you
Don't know what I'm gonna do, I keep
Falling in and out of love, with you.

Lonestar-Amie

I can see why you think you belong to me
I never tried to make you think or make you see one thing for yourself
But now your off with someone else and I'm alone
You see I thought that I might keep you for my own

Amie, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do

Don't you think the time was right for us to find
All the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time
And can't you see which way we should turn together or alone
I can never see what's right or what is wrong
Don't you take too long to tell me

Amie, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do

Amie, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do

Now just come to what you want you've had your way
And all the things you thought before just faded into gray
And you can say that I don't know if it's you or if it's me
If it's one of us I'm sure we both will see
Won't you look at me and tell me

Amie, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do

Amie, what you wanna do
I think I could stay with you
For a while maybe longer if I do

The original version is called "Amy" by Pure Prairie League, its from 1972.

Lonestar recorded a re-make of this song, but i believe it is spelled "Amie", although i'm not 100% on that spelling.

i hope this has helped best answer your question. =)

Pure Prairie League, 'Amy'. I think Vince Gill sang lead. That was the original group to do the song.
