this is actually a great question..............
as they all do (align themselves),in a round about way, i don't believe i've recently heard any say they endorsed his policies in a steadfast manner, rather they pick and choose what little good things they think are left and what they think the christian thumpers want to hear...
even those folks, should be tired of the lies by now,or will soon be...........

Oh, how quickly you Libs forget!!! Did you forget (obviously, and CONVENIENTLY), that in the last year of Clinton's presidency, that Al Gore distanced himself from Bill, didn't invite him on the road to campaign with him? Hmm, can't imagine WHY...guess Monica was busy, so Bill couldn't go. LOL! President in disgrace, Impeached, so of course Gracious Gore should have let him share his tour bus. Ha! Ha! Ha! Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Get real, libbie. Sure, Prez Bush is unpopular with his own party, he's failed in that regard, so his support won't be asked for. BUT, same is true of the Dems, and with Bill. Go reread your not-so-ancient presidential history, before you ask dumb questions. If you start the pie throwing, make sure there's no clown behind you with the same thing to throw in YOUR face. :D

The strategy may well backfire. Al Gore probably would have beaten Bush if he had aligned himself more with Bill Clinton - despite his escapades in the White House.
The 2008 election should be very interesting, for sure.

I think there are a couple of potential GOP candidates currently watching the race who will show support for this president. But why does it actually matter?

John McCain has made a lot of moves to align himself with Bush and his policies.

It hasn't helped him.

Its like 1988 again, and they are all going to transition us smoothly from Reagan to the 21st century.

The only George Bush they know is Reagan's VP.

They all want to distinguish themselves on their own individual platforms and merits.......if you look to closely tied to a sitting President you don't look Presidential yourself.

And can I remind you that AL Gore did the exact same thing as far as Clinton was concerned? Remember?

McCain has been the only one dumb enough to align with Bush openly.
