As long as white, middle class, male America is not disturbed by world events everything is OK... right?

Well wake up to the changes in the world.... China, India, Japan, Russia are all rising to the Anglo-Saxon American challenge..... not to mention the Iranians, Pakistanis, and a whole load waiting in the wings.

gotageta…TOP answer.... you are the man... I have never laughed so much at an answer.. Mind you I am with you on the woman thing... that is another fault of white male America, by ef-feminizing the male population and allowing women to control the agenda without basis.

OK Engel... want a point to discuss? why go to Iraq and lay waste to the country so that Americans can feel safe at home... when in reality America has created 100 times more terrorists than ever existed.... now I have started the debate let's get some insightful comments from you, without lemming-like bias....

LittleBa… I 'd like to share your view of utopia, but you see anglo-saxon man has had it so good for so long they cause carnages in places like Iraq once they feel threatened.... That I must tell you is imminently about to change.

electros… You see, once you get past the Jingoism and self denial the truth is apparent. Thank you for at least trying to understand the question... for the rest, the demise of America hastens as you avert your eyes to the truth, seven nations now have the nuclear bomb and they are not all Anglo Saxon......

If I think what you are trying to say is correct, than you are right. For a long time, "white" Americans have lived on another level-mentally; not all whites are like that though.
All Americans are in the mindset we had right after WW2. But sadly, whites, and all of Americans did nothing to keep that title of being "Best of the Best".
With outsourcing, oil dependency, large vehicles, and a myriad of other things, countries like China, Japan, India will take our spot.

Well really you'vee got a point, clues in the name-Anglo Saxon.Name comes from two of the three Germanic tribes that came to Britain, Angles and Saxons. So therefor can only really be applied to people who are from the lands those tribes settled. If that's what Americans perception of the term Anglo Saxon is, what do they think it means when it comes to the Anglican Church?? And Laurence, the seax (not sax), or scramaseax was a short knife rather akin to a modern day penknife, that is where the name Saxon came from, given by the Romans to most Germans who used such a knife, in the same way as Scots still call us sasenachts (which is Saxon but to their ears and language).A scramaseax was used for everyday chores but could also help in tight spaces or a shield wall, anywhere a sword could not be swung. They also used another blade called the langseax (longseax) which was again a single edged weapon, bigger than a scramaseax but smaller than a sword, about the same length as a machette today. This would have been used by warriors that could not afford a sword. Yes the Jutes did settle Kent and the isle of wight (there is conjecture that that is how the name "wight" comes from, a corruption of isle of jute) but both of these kingdoms were eventually invaded and absorbed into other kingdoms, Mercia invaded the isle of wight and and forced the Jutes to convert to christianity, then a couple of hundred years later both were annexed to the Kingdom of Wessex. Would if possible like to know a little more about the two villages that show how high deformity rates due to inter breeding though, i had not heard of this. Basically the English are called Anglo Saxons because they were the two biggest tribes side by side in England (the name England stems from Anglalond,or land of the Angles) so unless there is another nation somewhere where the two largest groups of people are the Angles and the Saxons then really the term should only be used for England. I suppose from that people will now say "oh yes, in Germany the Anglo Saxons were side by side" but one thing.....the Angles do not exist there as a tribe anymore! The term is English and English only.Americans need to read more books and watch less films for their education!

America was born from the idea that an individual , no matter his background, family, or raising, can rise from obscurity to fame and fortune if he or she has the guts and intelligence to do so. It is one of the FEW countries in the world to offer such a chance. Why do you think people clamor to get IN to America? Do you hear the same for England? Austrailia? Russia? China? Japan? India? No! So many countries believe in Caste, or Authority, or some other restrictive form of beliefs that prevent an individual from ever achieving their dreams. Only America has consistently offered the way to do that. Sure, there's discrimination, narrow-minded individuals and communities in our country. But there are, and will be, chances to overcome those. Not so in many, if not all, of the countries you mention. They hate us because we, with our far more tolerant system which allows individuals to make personal decisions far beyond what most other citizens of other countries are "allowed" to do, are far superior in performance to them, while with their flawed beliefs, fall behind in productivity and wealth. Sure, we Americans aren't perfect, never claimed to be. But we are FREE, as free as any society has been, and with that freedom, we can do more than any other society has yet proven themselves capable of. China is coming on, we'll see if they can maintain "order" when the Internet is going to let outside information seep in. Eventually, like Russia, they will collapse with internal struggles for individual power. Maybe not tomorrow, or next year, or next decade. But once the door is open, I doubt they'll be able to stop progress. I wish them luck, not ill. The people, not the Government(s).

I am white and 52. I was married to Irish/Mexican/Irish/Italian. I was involved with a Mexican national in Texas for many years. Have been seeing a Vietnamese woman for the past 7 years. Had a fling with a Black flight attendant, a Japanese woman. I have even stooped to dating white women and one woman from Turkey. Never asked what her religion was. DID NOT CARE. I know others that don't care. What disturbs me are racists that do not know they are racist.

All that said remember this old saying. "Just because you are paranoid does not mean someone is not out to get you"!!!

In any disaster throughout the world, the US is one of the first to offer and supply aid. We have been the worlds soup kitchen for nearly 50 years. More American white middle class males have died defending the rights and freedoms of others than the rest of the world has offered defending ours. Your "disassociated" white American middle class male has sacrificed more for the world at the expense of being demonized, apparently none worse than from within our our country.

You just joined the ranks of the innumerable people with problems that sound serious, but cannot be backed with anything other than manifested ideas. Please prove me wrong, and cite specific examples, so that we may discuss this in a mature fashion - not just baseless complaining.

Wow, I over-estimated your intelligence. I'm sorry. The example was supposed to BACK UP what you're complaining about, not be completely unrelated. Try again.

No, everyone is entitled to a peaceful existence. Unfortunately no one escapes from this world unscathed.

Your broad brush insults are lacking in both intelligence and imagination. Blaming the white American male for the woes of the world is just a wee bit ..... done......don't you think?

Being white ain't easy. Everyone else got special rights except you. Talk to a woman during work and you can be sued for sexual harrassment. Don't talk to a woman, get sued for sexual harrassment. Hire a white guy who has a PHD over a guy that is not white and only has a GED and get a hate crime filed against you. Congress never passes laws in your favor and no one lobbies for whites unless they want to be declared a Nazi or a racist.

It aint easy as you think, now is it?
