It means, "Get the hell out of the passing lane, cause you're blocking everybody from passing and holding up traffic you idiot." That's the literal translation of the signal.

Could be all sorts of reasons. If I had to guess, maybe you weren't driving fast enough for this particular maniac. Keep a cell phone handy just in case you have to call the cops. You don't say what the outcome was, so I guess you finally lost this particular weirdo. Another possibility is he was trying to tell you your brake lights and/or tail lights weren't' functioning properly, or there was some other problem with your car apparently visible to others. Well, I'm out of guesses. Gang lore has it that if a car behind you cuts the lights, they're going to start shooting at you next. This is probably a myth because it makes no sense to have less light on the subject in a case like that.

I don't know for sure what it means, but there are so many sicko's out there I would never stop for them. Were you in the passing lane, or going too slow and they couldn't pass? Otherwise just get away don't stop, for nothing. Could be they were checking if they had their high beams on. I hate when people drive with high beams on.
One time this big RV was behind me on a dark road, and his lights blinded me so bad, I had to just stop. I couldn't see nothing, he blinded me so bad I couldn't see if I could pull over to the side or not. I just sat there scared to death and he never figured out why he just kept beeping at me. Then when he got a chance to pass me he pulled out about 60mph and zig zagged around me like a maniac. I wish a cop had been there. Those RVs sit up too high and they don't realize how much they blind you when your in a car. If I would have kept going I would have wrecked the car I'm sure of it.
I wouldn't worry about the light thing if you were not doing anything wrong.

When you pass a vehicle on the road the car you pass will blink its lights to let you know that you are far enough ahead to pull in front.
If you didn't just pass the car and this happened then the driver is trying to inform you that he sees something wrong with your vehicle. Pull into the next gas station and check it out.

If the car behind you flashes their lights on the highway it usually means they intend to either pass you or a hint that your going to slow.It also used to mean you might have some problem you are unaware of on your vehicle. Now days it could mean someone wanted to get you to pull over and either, beat, rob, car jack you or all the above. If your a single female I'd just wave and keep on driving.

He might be an idiot and was just trying to get you to pull over. Of course he might be trying to tell you a light was out but I would drive to a well lit place of business and would never pull over. I know of no universal signal when they are behind you.

It means there's someone in your backseat, who's going to hurt you. lol, nah, that's just in the movies.
Usually, it means that there's something wrong with your car, maybe you have a flat tire, you left your turn signal on, or something doesn't work.
In the other lane, coming towards you, it's a warning. It means there's something up ahead, either an accident or perhaps a cop, hiding, trying to bust speeders.

This kind of thing is scarey. In the country you live in where guns are still allowed I would not do anything except possible slow down a tad. In my country if someone did that I would slow right down. But one thing is for sure, my doors are always locked and I never ever wind down my window or fet out of the car.

yeah it does mean to get out of the way, or speed up! Sometimes that signal can also be a warning to you that cop is ahead, but since he was behind you that wasn't the issue. Don't worry about people like that. When they start blinking lights at me, & I'm already doing the speed limit, I will slow down just to show them!

this usually means thank you. when my mom was driving at the free way a trailer could not get through, so my mom stopped giving him the pass. once he was settled he blinked his lights as a sighn of thankfulness.
