Motor turning over? If not, then start with the solenoid and starter connections. If the motor turns over, could be a bad ignition coil, spark modulator, timing belt/chain could be broke, fuel pump not working, clogged fuel filter. That's some of things I can think of. Need type of car, year model, fuel injection or carburetor. Start with the cheapest and go up. If it doesn't work, well at least you got a new part you shouldn't have to worry about for a while.
Start with checking for a spark. See if you're getting fire to the plugs. You could also take off the fuel line (on a non pressurized system) and check for flow when you turn the key over. Those are two easy tests.

First, how do you know that it's not out of gas? Can you confirm that you put in more gas than you drove, or are you just going with your gas gauge which could be busted.
Second, the way you describe the situations doesn't tell us anything. You need to describe what happens when you turn the key. Do you feel the engine turn over or does it not make a sound? Are the lights in your car bright? Does it click when you turn the key?

i think of that if it extremely is something digital which you will get a "examine engine" easy and it may generate a fault code interior the laptop? i could additionally advise a clogged gas filter out, a a threat undertaking with the gas pump and, a distant risk which you have an intermittently failing gas pump relay. desire this helps!! P.S. another ingredient that i could advise, could be clogged/grimy gas injectors.

You don't give enough information for anybody to truely diagnose the problem. the easy thing would to tell you to replace the engine, but that is very expensive. It may be something as simple as a clogged fuel filter or........

it may be the fuel pump that its not working anymore. try to hit the fuel pump several times so you can wake it up. after the car goes on the best thing to do is to buy a new fuel pump.

Could be one of several things. Your gas gauge could be broken. Your fuel pump could be broken. Or your fuel filter could be completely clogged and need changing.

"Won't start" is pretty vague. It could be hundreds of posibilities.
Dead battery, Low battery, bad ground wire to engine, bad power wire to starter, bad power wire to battery, bad connection at battery post or terminals, blown fuse, bad key switch, bad starter, bad fuel pump, bad injectors, out of gas, neutral safety switch, seized engine, broken connecting rod, no compression, no spark, bad oil pressure switch, broken timing belt, plugged fuel filter, bad starter solenoid, bad starter, broken rotor, cracked distributor cap, Anti-theft device, water in/on engine, out of gas, vacuum leak, bad gas, bad ignition coil, blown computer, faulty cam or crank sensor ...
I could list 50 more things easiy...
When you turn the key to start it, what happens?
Could you be a little bit more specific??
ADDED: Probably a broken timing belt.

it could be alot of things, but i would be checking the gas filter,it might be clogged,or the fuel pump went out.check the fuel pump fuse,if its blown, then the fuel pump wont work.

if u put more gas in it and it didnt start.. it could be that the battery is dead and needs to be charged... you may need a new battery or new alternator.. orrrr you might need a new starter.
