I think your tip should reflect the service you had received. Was it very good? Was there much room for improvement?
I would ask next time before getting the service done what the average tip is. This will inform you and also let them know that if they do a good job then you will give above average tip. Some one once said that he always tips the Waiter before he/she takes the order. This way they usually give better service. That is if he tips well and I believed he did usually.

Tip whatever you feel the service was worth. The customary amount would be 15%, but tip more if you feel you got above average service. I usually tip 10% for below average service, 15% for average, and 20% for above average. Based on a $30 bill, that breaks down to $3, $4.50, and $6 depending on the level of service.

i've never had a manicure so i wouldn't really know
but if someones doing a service you should tip them pretty well
depending on the job they do it can be from $7-$15, just tip them how much you think they deserve and that should be good enough for them and for you

If the manicure was done by the owner of the spa no tip. he is making money from the $30.00. if it was done by a worker i would give between $3-$5 depending on how good the manicure was.

The standard would be $8 - $10. My clients tend to tip me more because they LOVE my services. What can you afford ?

i always tip 20% not matter where i go or do, that means if my nails cost $30 i would tip $6 , you basically just move the decimal point to the left one spot and double the number example
$30.00=$3.00=$3.00x$3.00= $6.00
but im from MA and thats around average around here
