That was a little bit sarcastic. A small defense against what you said is that the "glam bullshit" has been a part of rock n roll since Jagger, while rock stars have always been subject of the affections of 13 year old girls. That being said, most of the genre is pure dreck. Like most teen music throughout the ages (exceptions, of course, exist) it is inherently disposable.

Actually emo music started from punk. emo stands for emotionally charged punk, which is why the first emo bands sound good like rites of spring and moss icon. Then simple plan and all those other gay bands started to show up and make emo music the whinny crap you hear on the radio. all depends what u think is "emo". these days i dont really know what emo music is. there are sooo many things that u can stereotype music with eg. a band like lamb of god can't be just metal. its gotta be groove metal or thrash metal.. im sick of it. By the way there is nothing wrong with liking some music (eg rock n roll) thats different to all the pop stuff your friends listen to.

i have one question: why does everyone hate the "emos" and the music they listen to?! give them a break already.

Beats the hell out human beings. someway track, style, and behavioral issues all finally end up being defined by a similar word, and the those that are seen emo address those traits they affiliate with the flow. maximum human beings think of this is rubbish.

seriously, nobody cares. if people want to listen to it who are you to tell them if its good or not? who made you in charge of what music is awesome and which sucks? if they listen to it, love it, they won't give a flying f*ck what you or any other "emo"hater thinks, and good for them.

What's wrong with 13 year old girls? NOTHING. And it's so popular because it's all over MTV and young teenagers do whatever is getting pushed in their face. And then they spread it to their friends, and then it becomes really popular.
