All toddlers feel that way, some people never learn to outgrow it. Those people just don't or can't get into the minds of other people. They don't understand that other people have the sane feelings they do. It's easy to get wrapped up in your own thoughts when they are the only ones that you can hear.

I tend to think that those people never got past the toddler 'me me me' stage. They think the world revolves around them, they are the most important, and all around them are only there to serve them. In my opinion there's way too many people like that today, and that's a lot of what's wrong with society today. Too many people laying way too much importance upon their own selves, and never are able to see past their own selfish wants and desires.

Some people are just brought up by egotistical parents who dont know how to respect themselves, so they are unable to teach their children respect. Its all in the upbringing.

Insecurity. They have to have their ego into everything and everybodys business to make them look like they know everything. I think it is a false sense of security and ego.
