Why is it when you say that the US is occupying Iraq, causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, upsetting the stability of the region and creating more terrorists in response to US aggression, the trolls on here call you anti-American..?
Why does the truth hurt so much? If you don't like it why don't your lobby your Representative to get the heck out of Iraq and other people's business?

Larry,, Larry you demonstrate the reasons why Americans are hated the world over... It is OK for the rest of the world, Iraqis, die and suffer as long as everything is OK at home in America... Their lives blighted as long as America gets cheap gas... I am disgusted at you and your type.

McKenzieCalhoun... What is your problem... I notice that you hate the truth. Blind Patriotism is the final resting place of the brain dead... You must dissent when your leaders and country are wrong, wrong, wrong... If any of the things I protest happen in our country I would be the first to defend it.... BUT... it's not is it? we are destroying the lives of others and that I don't agree with.

To Larry: "Iraq was the wrong place to wage war but.......It's better than on American soil."
The second part of the statement implies that fighting in Iraq will eliminate the need to fight terrorists on our own soil. That's flat-out WRONG. YOU are flat-out wrong.
Fighting in Iraq does NOTHING except tie up troops and money, leaving less available to protect our homeland, as well as cause more hatred toward us around the world.
In case you didn't get the memo, Iraq WASN'T a terrorist state before the invasion. The 9/11 commission said that there was NO EVIDENCE linking Iraq to 9/11. Not to mention the fact that Saddam hated Al-Queda, and they hated him.
If being an "American" means believing in all of your crazy pro-war horse-sh*t, then I'd rather be a Communist. Do you think maybe it's time to start thinking for yourselves people, and stop letting Fox News and radio talk show hosts think for you?
I know it's hard to accept that your beloved leaders are wrong on this issue, even if you agree with them on others. It's just so much easier to convince yourselves of anything that your heroes tell you isn't it?

The people who call dissenters anti-Americans live in a one-dimensional black and white world. To them, some people are always right and some are always wrong. For example, Bush can't possibly make a bad decision, and Michael Moore always lies.
Here is an example of how the normal human being's mind operates:
Bill Clinton has told lies and has also made mistakes.
Bill Clinton was an excellent president.

It is difficult in such times as these when young men and women serve this nation with pride sacrificing their own lives for the policy decisions of people who should no better then to involve the military in an occupational style war with no end in sight .
As Americans we are proud of the difficult choice our young soldiers made in an effort to stand strong and stick together in difficult and trying times .
As this occupation has dragged on and more and more they are faced with violent assaults from the same people they freed from an evil dictator named Saddam and extremists from every nation in the region it is difficult to remain completely focused to the long task ahead of changing this region of the world into a peaceful democracy .
This change will take 20 or more years and if this region is to become peaceful at anytime in the future it will be due to a military presence that forces this change through attrition .
We wore down and eventually tamed the American Indian and so will we tame the Arab .
No great society has accomplished this feat in history but with resolve and the proper techniques we soon can claim this victory in the name of freedom and democracy .
We must break the spirit of these people through years of deprivation and control through our continued presence and one day in 20 or thirty years we will win .
So since we know that winning is possible and nothing short of staying the course can accomplish this we must establish a firm footing and hold our ground and continue to fight those who if left alone would surely try and destroy us in the future .
SO is it better to fight them now or in 10 years when they have destroyed one or more American cities with a nuclear weapon purchased from Pakistan or by invading Israel .
Its possible at almost anytime for a movement to begin and lead to this tragic prediction of the future if we ignore this problem .
This is the firm believe of all patriots and republicans and many in our government and military .
the cost will be 10 or 20 thousand of our troops killed and possibly 2 or more million Arabs but they will come under our control this way or be faced looking across a desert of green glass .

No. Truth is VERY American.
We are occupying Iraq until we can achieve our goals regarding terrorism.
We have caused the deaths of thousands of Iraqis, quite efficiently, with a roughly 6 to 1 ratio in our favor. When they attack us, we attack back and kill them.
We want the surrounding areas unstable, as Muslims of surrounding countries continue to fight with their own terrorists and fundamentalists, eventually overthrowing the dictators that have oppressed their own people for centuries.
No, they call you unAmerican because you cheer our enemies, insult your own country, call for it to be humbled, act seditiously toward our elected officials (much as similar people treated Former President Clinton), call your own country "The Great Satan", etc.
Folks, read this guy's posts. Is this what you side with? Is this what you call, "American"? "Patriotic?"
Truth is what he wants. Read his posts. Decide if this is the spirit of America, the face of truth, the patriotism of our country.
He's chosen sides in WWIII. Have you?
Why does the truth hurt so much? If you don't like it why don't your lobby your Representative to get the heck out of Iraq and other people's business?

Because they don't like it when people attack their zone of comfort and fantasies.
When you start telling the truth, it begins to chip away the false facade that these trolls have been living under for so long, and so they go on the attack by saying: "You hate America! You want us to fail! You side with the terrorists! You love Muslims!..."
This will be going on for at least 5 more years.

The self righteous indignant hypocrite right wing have their own truth and if you do not agree with it then you are not American. If you are not rich or white or Christian then you are not American. If you dissent against your government you are not American. When Hillary Clinton becomes the president that all will change. Turn the paper crane. Support Hillary. Send the right wing, their paradigm paralysis and their ideology into the abyss.
And Orwell was a moron. He wrote "1984". To quote the dude is idiotic in my opinion. Support the Democrats. Don't think too hard on this one. It just makes sense.

I think people who believe in their country's policies see anyone disagreeing with them as disagreeing with "the country" and are, hence, anti-American. It's a narrow-minded view, however, when opinion polls consistently prove that the government position is out of step with the majority of the population. Hence, it's actually anti-American, IMHO, to be disagreeing with the majority of people who disagree with the war in Iraq. It's still not perfect logic, but it makes more sense than being called "anti-American" when you're actually in the majority.

George Orwell wrote, "In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act".
Best known for his contributions to the study of linguistics through his theory of generative grammar, this Professor Emeritus of Linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has been the most intelligent, vehement critic of the US government during the current and the preceding centuries. Consistently writing (and speaking publicly) in a calm, thoughtful manner, for years Professor Chomsky charged America's ruling establishment and its obedient press corps with some of the most heinous crimes against humanity one could imagine. His political activism has spanned decades while his impressive list of books assailing the US government has continued to grow. His perception, insight, and presentation of evidence to support his dissidence are without equal. And activism is his "hobby". I feel assured that there are many amongst America's ruling elite who count their blessings that Dr. Chomsky has focused so much of his attention on his linguistics studies.

I don't think you are anit-american. I think you are a coward that is an American.
How'd you feel on 9/11? Were you upset or were you happy...the answer will tell you the answer you seek. Don't disagree that Iraq was the wrong place to wage war on Terrorists, but it beats the hell out of American soil.
We don't want to leave Iraq because we don't want to be paying $10 a gallon for gas and having to dodge car bombers while we are filling our tanks.
