Try Date with Destiny, by Nightmares on Wax. For some reason, It kinda reminds me of that "ya gotta be" song by Desree a few years back. Also, try Estelle, by A Man Called Adam. Great, uplifting lyrics about love. Two of the more hopeful songs I've heard. Let me know what you think. The first has a hip hop-lite feel... LOVE the chorus, hate the bridge. The second may be different musically, a kinda jazzy Euro sound, but if I had to label them, they'd be pop songs. At the least, your girlfriend'll probably like 'em.

I don't know if you're into Urban contemporary gospel-but I highly recommend the CD by The Sounds of Blackness called "The Evolution of Gospel". Very uplifting...I listen to it almost every morning as I'm preparing to go to work. Hope it helps...
