The little things are what make up the big things which in turn make up the grand gestures. I much prefer the little things a smile a nod of approval or a hug for no reason other than a hug.

Both - it depends on the context. If the moment calls for a grand gesture then that's what I expect. If, however, the moment is screaming for a little something then that's best of all. Like an unexpected hug from someone I love. :)

LITTLE THINGS............... I*d feel like a Queen if my b/f decided to grill out..out at his place and invite me over rather than going out to eat at some elegant 5 course restaurant........
I prefer renting movies to watch at home over going to the theater...more one on one time...besides my couch is so much more comfortable than those theater seats.
I*d rather family and friends write me a note or letter from their heart for a birthday card, or for christmas, etc..over anything they can buy in the store.
A wildflower picked off the side of the road, or a hike up the mountain...is more meaningful to me than a day say spent at an amusement park.
Simple little inexpensive things that show the care, and concern from within a person*s heart...

it's all the little things that are impressive... burning the bacon, a laugh here and there, a smile, a touch... the things everyone else find it so easy to take for granted because they have all the time in the world.

Little things..... because these are spur of the moment genuine gestures..... ie a suddenly picked bunch of wild flowers is more treasured than a huge expensive store bought bunch of roses..... its almost as if I am expected to give a huge response to the roses.

I love the little thing...

like my daughter giving me a little kiss when she goes to nursery or picking me a little flower in the garden or just holding my hand.

They are the most special, precious things in the world.
