The University of Florida is a rotten festering pool of evil.

First of all, I just wanted to point out to whomever made the comment that Spurrier was not fired, he left to go coach in the NFL. But you're right Urban is pure genius. No other coach could have taken Utah to an undefeated season and had their QB drafted #1. And nobody else would have utilized Tebow the way he did. But to address the question, how are the Gators pure evil? Because we're talented at sports (we were also ranked #1 in gymnastics and made it to the college world series in baseball 2 years ago)? Because we're by far the most academic state school in Florida? Because our Law School is ranked in the top 50 in the US? Because we have one of the best medical schools in the country? I just don't really see what you're getting at.

As a Gator fan, I find it wonderful when other fans grow to hate UF.

That usually means their team stinks and can't compete with the Gators.

What's the matter? Jealous? Must be an FSU fan or a UM fan, or better yet, an Ohio State fan.

Sorry that UF is not only tops in sports, but in ACADEMICS (you know, unlike that lovely 10% graduation rate OSU's basketball team had).

For the rest of us lucky and fortunate enough, IT'S GREAT...TO BE...A FLORIDA GATOR!

They are not evil. They have a great recruiting program and a talented coaching staff. The athletics at the university are exceptional. It could also just be that gatorade was first invented b/c of the university. Otherwise, the gators are not evil, they are talented.

I dont think they are evil, but I do believe that the University of Florida sold their souls to win national championships in basketball and football.. Or they could have invented a better Gatorade than before and are playing a level above everyone else..

I'm a Georgia fan and my wife graduated from "The U" (University of Miami), but I wouldn't go so far as to call them pure evil.

I remember a couple of years ago I was watching UF v Bama, and Bama was spanking UF 31-3. I was in a room full of UF fans, in Gainesville, and when Bama's receiver Tyrone Prothro broke his leg, most of the UF fans found something to cheer about. They kept rewinding it and watched it about 6-7 times. I thought that was sick. I used to cheer for UF more than not, but after going to Gainesville and seeing there fans, I don't cheer for them anymore.

Are they evil? I don't know about that, but they sure will never win an award for the most classy bunch of fans.

They got smart and fired Steve Spurrier. Now, the festering is in South Carolina.

Urban Meyer is nothing short of genius.
