The big stuff will likely be the weekend before, but something nice will happen on Monday, too.
I won't forget your birthday, Malarie!

If I celebrate at all, it's usually the weekend before or after. If I do something on a weekday, it's usually just dinner out.
No need to drown my sorrows for getting older. It beats the alternative.

It really depends...
Are you having a party yourself, having friends take you out or just planning on celebrating on your own?
Obviously, if you're having a party you'd celebrate the birthday on the day of the party. Actually, one of my friends had her birthday on a Wed. and celebrated 4 days later on Sunday. It worked perfectly. If your friends are taking you out, you'd also celebrate on the day of the outing. Now if you're on your own for your birthday then it's your choice. (Hopefully that's not the case!)
If it were me, I'd like to celebrate the day of so the "specialness of the day" is there. :)
Good luck and happy birthday!

Everyone in my family always celebrates on the day of the birthday, whenever it is, but sometimes also has a party on the week-end. Anything for a good party, eh?
And BTW, let me be the first to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance!

It makes me sad to hear you talk about drowning your sorrows in booze, especially on your birthday ! I don't make a big thing out of birthdays. To me, getting older is no big deal. Being a recovering alcoholic, I would beg you Malarie not to drink too much. I experienced a few years of hell from doing that, so, please be careful. You seem like such a nice person, I hate to think about you being so unhappy. Take care. oxox

I celebrate the day of my b-day regardless of when it is, and since I get drunk then, I call out the next day or take a personal day.
