trapezoid, depending on how u cut the triangle. could be a right triangle too... hard to say....

1st off, Area isn't measured in degrees.
2nd off, this is a Geometry question, not a geography question.
Finally, to find the area of half a triangle, you would divide the area of the original triangle by 2.
