I used them for about 6 months and never changed the tubes. But I got tired of scrubbing them and switched to a more regular style of bottle. By then my son was old enough that he wasn't bothered by excess air.

My sister never did, she just threw them in the disher washer after every use. However, there was a story on the news recently about Dr. Brown's bottles being unsafe due to a chemical in the plastic that could seep into the formula. You might want to search online and see.

You don't need to change them at all. Just wash them everytime with the little teeny bottle brush that they come with, you can also buy those seperatly as well. Don't worry about any chemicals the previous poster mentioned. That is why you shouldn't microwave ANY bottles, as ALL plastic relese a chenical when microwaved.

them bottles seem so complicated. in the end a bottle is a bottle, switch to regular one
