Do you think in a few years all the press coverage could go to Carlos Gomes and not Reyes. 6'4" tall with more speed and power than Reyes. If you have ever seen him play a game you will know why I am asking this question.

He could be... but I mean Gomes has 2-3 years before he contributes and Reyes is a sure thing now. The guy who will be more exciting by maybe next year is Fernando Martinez, he is hitting .300 in AA at age 18. He is special and will be probably be better than Reyes and much better than Gomes.

Admittedly, I haven't seen much of Carlos Gomez, but Reyes is a legitimate five-tool player, and he's got more power than people give him credit for. Sure, you don't see him hitting 450-foot bombs, but if the fence is 370 and he hits it 371, it counts the same.

Not until Gomes does it in the bigs...until then it's all hype...and the Mets are Reyes and Wright's team...

gomez is good but he has a LONG way to go to try to be half what Reyes is!!!! Remember talent and hype only get you so far.
