Your diaphram pushes up and compresses the air in your lungs. If your lips make a tight seal with the balloon, the compressed air then goes from your lungs into the balloon. (there are 2 l's by the way.).

You can also compress the air in your mouth using your tongue against the roof of your mouth. That's how you blow a bubble with bubble gum. Works great, but only a little volume of air is compressed.

Take hole end, place on lips, blow, breath through nose, repaeat until desired size.
Take end, remove from mouth, tie end
Place on stick of dynamite, light fuse, run
Baloon will blow up if done corectly

Encompass hole with lips. Inhale air through nose. Exhale air through mouth. Repeat until a full balloon shape has been acquired.
