I can think of a lot better arguments for why it isn't justified, I always hated having to debate a side I didn't agree with. But...
maybe to protect the innocent, especially children from bad influence and ideas, to keep unjustified propoganda from the population, to prevent the spread of untruths, rumors etc.
That is about all I can come up with at the moment, good luck.

I would say that any photo, film or writting that has unwilling or unaware people in sexual situations (like kiddy porn, animal stuff, rape and the like) should be censored. Other than that I say let the words fly. But saying that if someone says something that insights another person to commit violence or another sort of crime there should be laws in place to not only punish the person who commits the crime but also the person who insights them to commit the crime. Be it a terrorist, a neonazi or an animal activist. Also censorship within the home is a part of good parenting. If you don't want your kid to watch a movie with violence or sex in it (or a song, or view an internet site or whatever) then you are more than within your rights to limit what your child sees or hears. But what you don't have a right to do is take it away from everyone it's up to you to take it away from your child. Hope that some of this might help.

Censorship is justified when the material is against morals, law and public order. The government has the right to censor media and writings as a valid exercise of police power to protect people and the government from being exposed to indeceny and abusive works.

On the Internet, you mean?
A couple of of the most common factors. One is religious people get very offended by what is on the Internet and pressure the politicans for censorship. Another is where governments feel threatened by free speech on the Internet and take steps to censor or take punitive actions.

So the Bush administration can trample democracy. Censoring images of the mutilated American bodies and even flag draped coffins in the failed war of lies in Iraq is meant to leave people complacent and not rebel against the Bush criminals for sending their son to their in vain deaths.

If speech encourages people to harm, abuse, or kill others; then censorship is justified.
