how can i do a simple finger weave?

ok so i have to make long strands of finger weaving for costumes in drama and i cant rember how to do a simple finger weave theones i tried dont look like how i want them to please help

It looks like a 'braid' made on a 4 pinned braiding frame.
It is (like) one of the ones we played with as kids.
