I would choose the chicken. It could lay eggs that would keep me fed until a couple hatched to become more chickens. An egg would have to be incubated and turned and then when it hatched I'd have to wait until it grew big enough....I could starve in that time.
What super power would it have? The ability to regenerate a leg if I opted for meat one day.
If it fell in the forest, it might cluck.

I would say the egg first.. cause the chicken could lay more..The super power would be to reproduce and yes if it fell in the forest it would make a sound even if no one was there to hear it..

The chicken, of course. That way, I could let the chicken breed with its really-fast-egg-laying powers, eat the chicken, and then continue the cycle with its offspring. And, I wouldn't be sure about the falling in the forest scenario. I wouldn't let that damned chicken out of my sight.

if i were stranded on an island, i would bring a small raft or if i couldn't have that, a small explosive and some logs to make a fire. the egg came first no doubt! i would have the power to either regenerate or bend the space-time continuum (time travel) like Hiro!! yes, if a tree fell and no one heard it, it still made a sound!!
