Do you think if you had a wrist watch that was counting down Years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds until your death, you would live life differently? What I mean is that if you had a constant reminder of the time you had left on earth, would you use it more productively?

Most definitely I would. I try to keep that in mind all the time but we all kinda get caught up in our self-important moments.

I think this is the single biggest reason humans act they way they do. There is no end in our minds because we deny it.

When I was 18 , I was going to live forever. I had all the answers and was pretty damn smart. Then I got my first real adult job at 23, being a policeman. A young lady I know was a friend of the police department and worked for a local radio station. She had been attacked by a male several months earlier. He was arrested. She was killed in a car accident that I had to handle. In those days, there were only 3 cops per shift. It was shift change and I handled the call in Nov. of 1976. She was partially decapitated and the most jolting realization and feeling of loneliness was upon me as I handled that accident for 10 minutes before any help came. Then I knew, I was no longer infallible. Life changed from that moment on. Also found out what tunnel vision was like.

Don't have the time left as I did then so I really try to remember how short life is and what real happiness is. I fail frequently but that job taught me the best lessons of my life.

Life would probably be totally different.

When you know when you will die, you will be more conscious of your time. It will definitely serve as a reminder not to waste your time any further

However, you might feel mentally depressed. You might keep thinking: Oh no! Only ... years left before I die! This has a negative effect on the person and he might feel depressed instead of being motivated to not waste time.

For me, no, I would prefer not to look at the wrist watch. That is indeed nerve-racking!

It would probably depend on the amount of time given. Those with precious few days would probably live like there's no tomorrow, while those who had ample time on their watch would likely suffer from the belief that they were invincible.

In the end, we all wear the watch, but we can't really read the time.

Yes. We have a tendency to take life 4 granted! It's a shame.

Those who see themselves as invinsible would never wear it. They also assume nobody else should either.
