Any graphics card on the PCI format is slow because the slot is inherently slow for 3D graphics. FX 5200 is slow because it has only 2 pixel pipelines. 7300GS has a better architecture (4 pixel pipelines & 3 vertex shaders), high core clock (550mhz) and high memory clock (700mhz). 7300GS is a fast budget card.

The 7300 GS is a much better card, but it is still slow compared to the bleeding edge cards that are out now. If you are trying to play many new games and want a little bit of future-proofing, I'd make a solid investment in a card in the $100 - $150 range. The GeForce 7600 GT, for example, is a very nice card for the price but there are plenty of others.
