I am liberal but on politics I mostly read and listen to thoughtful Conservatives especially Libertarians because reading people who agree with me is boring. I occasionally change my mind on an issue when they point out something I had not considered but not my overall world view.

I am as left as I can get, but... Most of my liberal friends fail to understand how I am against illegal imigration and against complete amnesty. I don't have to blindly follow the left or the right do I? Can I just use the ideas from both sides that make sense to me and that I feel are right? For the reasons stated here, I refuse to vote for any of the two major parties this election. They are too much alike. Instead of voting for the "lesser of the two evils" I will vote with my heart and go for either Green or Libertarian.

I am a conservative. I have read Wealth of Nations and The Road to Serfdom, as well as other books. Any idea would have to comport with the general principles. But yes, I could be convinced an idea is good.

Depends on the concept and the issue.

For example, NAMBLA will never cause me to change my opinion that they and all their members should be killed.
al-queerda will never cause me to change my opinion that they and all their members should be killed.
