i just got a newwhisper power filter 10 and i was wondering on the tube you put in the water to suck up the dirt there is a little nosel at the end with alot of oles on it you put it on but i was wondering if i have big peices of poop that arnt getting sucked up can i just take off the nosel with small holes and just have 1 big hole or will this not work better


p.s i dont have anyfish that are small enough to get sucked up in the hole

It will run fine either way if you are sure your fish won't get stuck to the end of the pick up tube. Usually larger pieces of waste or uneaten food will break apart and be pulled into the filter pretty quickly even if at first they don't fit through the little holes.

Well if you got a 10 gallon filter, and you say you have bigger pieces of poop; it seems like you didn't get the right type of filter. I believe I have a whisper 10 for my 10 gallon, and I have had a 4 inch fish in it before and it sucked up all the feces. So maybe you need a bigger filter. Anyways, I wouldn't recommend it, something might get trapped inside the filter.

You could have the 1 big hole, but it won't suck it up efficiently. You have to guide the poop with the net to the hole if you want it to suck it up.

well, you're suppose to have that nossel on there. the poop when it gets sucked into the there, and it's to big....its fine. the poop with keep decomposing and then get sucked up.
