The democrats have made their position on the war crystal clear - they have adopted a policy of defeat. Hell, even their esteemed leader has stated publicly that the United States has lost the war.
The war cannot possible end well under an administration that has given up and accepted defeat as a viable policy.
No credit is exactly what the left deserves during this crisis - unless they succeed in handing America yet another defeat, then they can take pride in their efforts.

Well, gee, let's think. The Democrats, starting with the sainted JFK started our involvement in Vietnam. JFK's replacement, LBJ, another Democrat, escalated the war. Nixon, a Republican, came along and ended the war. How did you lefties react? The past is the best predictor of the future.

If some democrat president just cuts and runs and a genocide ensues, the right will correctly go nuts. If it ends well, who cares how they will react. If they go nuts it will just make the left look good, so why complain?
