Physician assisted suicide is when the one dying is willing to die, usually due to a severe illness. Occasionally they have it put in their Will in case they are not able to decide for themselves to "Pull the plug".

Euthanasia is technically when a person doesn't really want to die, such as in the cases of The Death Penalty.

Euthanasia is also the word mostly used when putting an animal to death.

physician assisted suicide is killing a disabled person with their consent and euthanasia is killing a disabled person without their consent.

It's based on the myth that because a person is physically or mentally challenged or in pain that their life has no value or is a "burden"

I live next to a home for disabled people. They may not be able to work, but I've made friends with some of them and they bring a bright spot to my day. I would be very sad if they were euthanized.

Every person has intrinsic value because they are alive. As the Declaration of Independance says "We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life..."

As for physician assisted suicide, the purpose of a physician is to save life and to improve a person's quality of live not to take it away. A good physician can also bring comfort and moral support to a suffering person, further improving their quality of life without taking their right to life away.

Euthanasia is just basically "mercy killing". The sick/dying person wishes to be put out of their suffering by a person who will help administer drugs to help them pass away. There really is no difference between euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. Euthanasia is very controversional, but in my opinion, it is a person's right to choose.

Euthanasia is killing people because YOU think it's good for THEM. Physician-assisted suicide is a person knowingly and willingly committing suicide with the help of a physician.

There's a big difference.

they are one and the same.
physician-assisted suicide is when the physician gives the subject the cocktail of barbs and they drink it because if the physician administers it themself they could be prosecuted by zealots and ant-humanists who want to ban euthenasia

Euthenasia is the vehicle for death. The physician administers these drugs.
