Go on to another exercise.
It is best to warm-up with stretching exercises before running and for some people after running. This just to reduce the chance of injury. This is most important for older people, but if you drive a car to where you workout or do something else where the muscles get stiff, a little loosening up may be wise.
Do not come to a total stop after maximum exercise. It is hard on the heart. A little walking after running may be good.
Do not drink a lot of water while your heart is still going fast.
Good luck. I am sure you will do well.

someone said to eat a banana before you run, you should eat a banana but it should be several hours before your run, bananas take a very long time to digest and will give you stomach cramps if eaten too soon before a workout, ironicly enough they are meant to stop cramps but only if it is digested. If you run in the morning, eat the banana after dinner. You may have just tweaked your leg the slightest bit and it caused it to fall asleep, you're probably just fine!

Walk to cool down. Slowly relax yourself down to a normal heart rate. Stretch a few more times just to make sure nothing tightens up on you.
