Actually 'pumps' are a type of shoe ; closed a with a demure heel . Quite classic actually .
'Stilettos' refer to the shape of the heel ; razor sharp as in stiletto-knife .
Pumps can have a stiletto heel . In fact 'stilettos' are randomly used for any type of shoe ( sandal , pump , boot ... ) that has a stiletto heel . Very sexy and very painfull when they step on your toes while dancing :-)

Well, that's a very simple question to answer. Stilletos are small, skinny heels. Pumps are bigger, more plump heels. That's really all there is to it. I dunno what got you (or google in that case) so mixed up but, yea, that's it. Pumps are just bigger than stilletos. And if you're looking for fashion tips, I prefer wearing stilleto heels.

The difference between a stiletto and a pump is... A stiletto is a thin very high METAL heel. A pump just has a high heel.

Stillettos typically look like 'spike' heels, and appear to be able to punch holes. They are usually referred to as 'stiletto heels'.
Pumps have low to high heels, that can be thick or thin.

i think it's just tht stilettos are taller and the heel is thinner. Pumps, i guess, are shorter and the heel is thicker.
