Who thinks John Lennon had the right idea?
John Lennon was a great musician, and even better person.
We need more people in our world who beleive in a promote peace, equality, and exceptance, like him!
Don't you agree?

If everyone in the world agreed with and did what the song Imagine said, we would live in a place with peace and love and, as it goes,
"nothing to kill or die for"
If thats not perfection....................
and John Lennon wrote that song

remember John Lennon was a mortal just like everyone else. Yes, he had great ideas and I believe he was possibly the best poet of the 20th century. Like most people ideas and philosophies that are general in nature are easy to subscribe to. John Lennon was not the best father in the world to his older son Julian and wasn't such a great husband to his first wife. So he was a great contributor to music and culture he wasn't always able to be kind and sweet to his own family

I admired John as a musician (Paul even more so). If every one IN the world were already perfect, his ideas would be fine. But, in a world where evil men can grab power over others - idealism flies out the window.

War is needed when evil men (history is full of them - Hitler and Stalin most recently) rise up in power. They must be resisted and defeated, otherwise there comes murder, poverty, fear, and oppression.

War IS hell, but so is slavery and bondage.

Question: What killed the most people in the last century, 1900-1999?

Answer: Their own governments - 100 million died at the hand of their own governments during the 20th century.

"nothing to kill or die for" = nothing to live for

More people have been killed through out time over religion than any other reason. Just "Imagine" no religion too! He got hammered for that but, the middle east would be a resort destination if it would not be for a 2000 year old religious conflict.

It was daring for him to risk his career nailing all those sacred cows at that time. It was also very encouraging to many.

The trouble with this world (and I'm sure it frustrated him a lot), is that we often know what is right, but we do the opposite to gain some advantage over others doing the right thing.

If only everyone could imagine the world he did. I do, and I think it may come someday.

We have to live the example and create peace around us just as he did. If we don't, no one will.

It all starts with you.

I love that song! It's got a lovely idea, although not very realistic. But I think that's part of what makes it so great! He was daring to dream of that kind of world really existing!!!!!!!!!
