im not sure if Germany is considered a first world country or 2nd..

First World.
Most of Europe is.
The Eastern Bloc countries would be considered Second World.

Actually, the definition of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd world is a little fuzzy. It didn't come into use until after the atomic bomb, and was first used to indicate if a country was industrialized. The term 2nd world never was widely used, because it was assumed that the there were two" superpowers" and everyone else would be considered "3rd." Now it use seems to be used to indicate a countries state of industrialization, both nuclear and otherwise.
