I would say to go with t-mobile pay as you go service. For $100 you get 1000 minutes for 1 year. so thats about $8.30 per month. There is more description at the site below

Id Rather have my phone Pre-Paid.

Once My father Bought My Sister a New Phone
She went Prepaid For atleast 1 Year.
No Problem Whatsoever.

My Dad Thought she was old enough
to Use and chat Wisly.
The first tim ethe bill exceeded $500
He said it was Maybe because
she was Excited

2 Years later the Bill Went higher up to More

The prepaid plans are definitely the way to go. You can compare the different prepaid phone plans at the following website and see which one makes sense for you. The Cingular Go Phone has more phones to choose from than the T-Mobile plan and I've heard good things about both of them. Click on the following link to see more information.

I would suggest Verizon iNpulse. You get to talk to all Verizon customers free and you get free nights. They also have good service. (I had a Verizon phone in Mississippi during Hurriccane Katrina and it was the only cell phone carrier working.) You get three hours for 15 dollars 6.5 hours for 30 Dollars and so forth. You can also earn bonus minutes after you have the phone for so long, after adding more minutes, and you get 2 free hours talk time for registering online. I wouldn't suggest those cheap prepaid phones you pick up from convenient stores, or tracfone.
