Nothing I've tried has helped. The only codes that come up are P0302 &
P0301. It seems that I've replaced or cleaned everything but the ECM.

the codes mean you have a misfire in # 1 & 2 cylinders. I doubt if you tried everything yet. For instance, did you swap the ign coils to see if the missfire changes cylinders? Did you test or replace the injectors? Take it to the dealer to have your problem properly diagnosed and repaired.

P0301 & P0302 are Cylinder misfires for cylinder numbers 1 and 2. I assume you mean you've replaced the usual parts (spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, coilpack etc.) that people like to "throw" at their car in hopes if "fixing" the problem. Have you performed a MANUAL compression test on the engine? If you've already replaced all the parts I've listed, the only other way misfire codes would set would be if there is a base engine concern. If valves are stuck open, that will certainly result in low compression. PCM failures, although possible, are VERY, VERY rare. I suggest you take it in to have the problem diagnosed PROPERLY before you waste any more money on parts your car doesn't need.

I doubt that you have an ECM problem. First thing people think if their car acts up is that the computer took a dump. The odds are 1,000:1 that the ECM is bad. My guess is that you have something wrong with the ignition system whether it be the coil or wires.

Are you sure the injectors are operating properly? I have been seeing a lot of shorted injectors, caused by ethanol, lately. Especially in Ford products. That will set misfire codes. I doubt that your ECM is bad. Take it to a reputable shop and have it diagnosed properly, and stop throwing parts at it.

It may be something as simple as a vacuum line came of the engine intake somewhere.

Yes they can but if you mention that you suspect a bad ECU, then they will certainly say that you should try a new ECU.

Unless you have some honest dealer. Haaaaaaa - had me going there for a minute....
