Favre is among the best but Montana is King!
Give Brady and Manning some time see if they can earn a few more rings!

This is very debatable because so many aspects play into this title as "best ever", but for all around Quarterback, i'd give it to Brett Favre .

The Guy is a competitor and a born winner. He has won 147 games and a superbowl without half of talent John Elway had surrounding him with the Broncos.

He has put up incredible stats and will soon surpass almost, if not all of Dan Marino's records after this season without having a hall of fame receiving core like Marino did with the Clayton Brothers.

The only 3 time consecutive MVP winner in the National Football League. 238 consecutive career regular season starts.

Although there have been many great QB's before him like Tarkenton, Unitas, Baugh etc. He may not have the rings Like Montana, and he might not have the best passer rating like Steve Young, but think about it. Did Brett Favre EVER have Hall of Fame or dominating talent around him aside from Reggie White? those guys had unamious talent around then. The guy has won regardless what hes been dealt with, and never gies up in any situation and can pull a win out of any situation.

Statistically, he is not the best. However, I would have to say Joe Montana because of how exciting he was to see play. The man holds the record for most 4th quarter comeback wins (32 or 33). Two of those wins were in Superbowls in the last 36 left on the clock (both Bengal Bowls). Nobody comes close to playing under pressure to the level he played. I hope another QB like him arises someday.

Bart Starr, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Steve Young, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Johnny Unitas pick your player they were all great.

and the guy who said Vince Young, you must be a homer because he is a freaking sophomore you can't be the greatest ever after one season no matter how good a season.

johnny u,joe montana.you could put favre up there.elway is in the top 10 but,he needed help.and alot of it.qbs are not known by stats alone.intangibles my friend, are underrated in these debates.marino had great stats, but no ring.jimmy mac,ok stats, ring.no im not gonna bring up trent dilfer.if you watch the games you can see whos got it and who doesnt.stats are nice to look at but that and fifty cents will get you a newspaper and thats about it.sustained success, elevating the play of people around you, cool under pressure, wanting it when to be on your shoulders when it counts and pulling it out in the end.just win baby.
