He was dropped because he's a disruptive influence, ill-disciplined and has a poor attitude. He's not a good team player even if he is one of the top 3 or 4 batsmen available to the Windies. With several young players in the squad it was probably felt that having Samuels, Morton and Gayle was one unprofessional senior player too many, and Samuels was the least indispensible.

May be because the selectors may not be happy about his form and his performance in the world cup.
