So basically, I got a 69.4 percent in AP US history 1st semester and my teacher wouldn't round it up to a C. I have to go on a mission trip to Ecuador this summer, and if I have to go to summer school for history then I can't go on the trip. How do I ask my teacher to round it up? (If she doesn't then I'm screwed.)

Ask your teacher if you want to, but also think about it. Why summer school? Why do you have to go to summer school when you get 69.4 (out of what?). Is it really a fail mark? If you parents force you to go to summer school just because you did not get higher grade, then the problem is with your parents. You should tell your parents that you won't want to go to Summer school, however you promise to work harder next year. Alternatively I think you can tell your teacher about your problem and ask for a round up. But the teacher would probably say no and ask you to talk to your parents about summer school.

I don't know about the rules where you live, but don't let others pressure you into things you really hate when you have a good reason. But if you don't have a good reason then you should give up your holiday trip to make up for your slack.

You might try talking personally with the teacher and explaining the situation and ask if you could do an extra credit assignement to boost up your grade because this very small percentage is going to cost you dearly. Now mind you, if you have been rude, insensitive or anything towards teachers and school, you can expect no grace.

All you can do is ask nicely and offer to do a lot of extra academic work to make it up. However, you have no ground to stand on if your teacher refuses. Some teachs are just sticklers when it comes to grading issues. If that's the case, chalk this up as a life lesson not to count your chickens before they've hatched.

Talk to her about how important is this trip to you. Also, tell her that you would do any extra credit work, even if its a research paper. If that doesn't work tell her or him "thank you anyways." and get more involved in the class. She might give you another chance.

Ask your teacher for ANY extra credit opportunities, go to class everyday, ask questions, look ultra interested in raising your grade, and flat out tell her about your trip and about how important it is to you and she may help you out.
