If that were the scenerio I don't think that that would be such a good idea because sales tax and levies and tafiffs help pay for certain things.
Such as gasoline tax, helps to improve roads.

NO. Removing sales taxes, levies and tariffs when the economy is booming would only lead to a disastrous inflation cause by people having to much money on their pockets.

But if you do it while in a recession or depression of the economy it will mostly help to to fasten the recovery process.

Since this would lower the price people would buy more stuff but they may spend less not more on stuff. They may choose to save more or work less with part of their savings.
