Well, that would be Shoaib Akthar from Pakistan in most people's book. Brett Lee is fast too.
However, i'd like to say that it is Australia's Jeff Thomson who's the real "fastest bowler".
Although Shoaib holds the record of 161+ kmph, he does not bowl at speeds in the excess of 155 kmph regularly. Its just this one ball that got him the record - and it was a noball too BTW.
Jeff Thomson on the other hand consistantly was up there on the 158-160 kmph mark almost every ball he bowled.
Additonally, Shoaib's action is suspect and is a "chucker" in the views of many cricket pundits. However, Jeff Thomson was a clean "bowler"....

Shoaib Akhtar is the fastest cricket bowler in the world and nobody can defeat him in speed even not Brett lee because his action is quite awkward type i.e he can generate lot of speed.

Leave out Shoaib and Lee. Tait is the fastest pace bowler currently on the international scene.
But now Shoaib is definitely faster than Lee when both are fit and firing.
Leave out those stats...........

Speed doesnt matter what matters is how good line and length you bowl and also stamina and ofcource confidence
but the answer CURRENTLY would be Shoaib Akhtar and Brett Lee!
