Chargers GM AJ Smith and Schottenheimer were never really on the same page, and had a pretty rocky relationship, going back to the decision to let Drew Brees go and keep Philip Rivers as the starter. With that being said, Smith had to fire Schottenheimer after another bad playoff loss.
And Despite Norv Turners poor record as a head coach in previous situations, he has a ton of talent and is working with the same offense that he implemented a few years back. Also, everywhere he goes he makes the starting QB better (See Alex Smith in '06). So the Chargers should be right atop the AFC once again this year.

Schottenheimer got screwed. Turner installed the offense and the Chargers kind of blamed Schotty for losing the coordinators; like that was his fault. Norv can NOT be a head coach in the NFL. He CAN'T do it. He is a great offensive coordinator but CAN NOT be a successful head coach.

They fired Schottenheimer over Turner because Marty hasn't won a big game as head coach. And how many "big games" has Norv won? Uh, same zero. Worse, Turner hasn't had a winning season yet, but Marty has had just TWO in his head coaching career that started in 1984!
I think it was a DUMB move. Hopefully Marty gets another head coaching job soon.
If I owned a team, I'd get this Marty on as a defensive coordinator pronto.

Its was stupid they had real good chemistry there with Schottenheimer, I would have picked the chargers to win this year if they would have kept him as head coach. Schottenheimer might be known for able to win the big game but I would put my money on Schottenheimer over Norv Turner anyday.

Really dumb move. Marty ball... so what! Compare his win loss record with Norv as a head coach. San Diego just lost their shot at the Superbowl this season.

Well, it's simple, Schottenheimer has a history of not being able to win in the playoffs, can't win the big game.

Wade Phillips. i don't think of it is going to take place, Jerry Jones will provide him yet another possibility. even however the Cowboys predicted to take a huge win at present and not in any respect confirmed up. a minimum of San Diego gave it a solid activity, and have a consecutive season. something Dallas lacked. they're the two preparation the professional Bowl however, how approximately that? lol

well, i think a change is nice because the bolts need to win the big one. Turner also has a very creative offensive mind so im excited to see what he'll do with antonio gates and L.T.
