Just be sure to start running Premium gasoline if you put 305 heads on a 350. If you keep running Regular gasoline, you will hear a slight pinging noise (caused by running gas with too low of an Octane rating for the compression you have) If you let it Ping long enough, you will damage your pistons to the point where you would have to rebuild the engine. Just be sure to run Premium 93 or 94 Octane gas, and you'll be fine!

putting 305 heads on a 350 is an old trick. yes, it raises the compression and gives you more power. im not sure what the figures are, but it is a decent upgrade. valve sizes between the 350 and 305 are negligible and wont have any relevance to power. its the size of the combustion chamber created with the 305 heads that raises the compression thus giving you more power. make sure you use the best head gaskets you can find! :)

You may get an increase in compression ratio but the 305 heads may have smaller valves and cost you power. I would check the valve sizes before swapping.

305 heads will bolt right on.
They have smaller combustion chambers that will give you more compression and more power. The problem is the smaller valves will offset the benefits at higher rpm's. You will probably see a need for premium fuel and it may increase fuel mileage slightly.

The valves are smaller and will restrict air flow.
Therefore, I don't recommend it.
