I'll do it if I legitimately think my answer is the best. I can admit to myself when it isn't, in which case I won't vote for it. Since it's "one person, one vote," then it's completely fair game to vote for yourself, as everybody has the same opportunity.
However, when you have multiple profiles for the purpose of voting for yourself mulitple times, then it's crossing an ethical line. I've seen people do that... where they'll have 13 votes for a one-word answer, and only 14 people have voted.
