Hi, I have 3 fantail goldfish that are about an inch and a half long in my 29 gallon tank. I have a 30-55 gallon filter in there along with an air bubbler and some fake plants and some hideouts. My question is I have been doing some research and would like to know if rosy minnows can go in there with them? I have a heater to put in there on low since my house probably gets too cold for even goldfish during the winter. Right now the tank is at 65-70 F degrees and I have read that they like the tank between 50 to 75 F and goldfish like it between 50 to 75F, so it seemed like it would work out.
Thanks in Advance!! :)
Also, what about some large ghost shrimp?

Anything that will fit into their mouths will be seen as food. Goldfish have no other tank mates but goldfish and you are currently at max capacity for your tank anyway. The goldfish may need a bigger tank in the future.

in case you have a actual solid clear out and take solid care of the tank you're able to have maximum non-aggressive species of fish with goldfish - a minimum of ones that the goldfish cant consume. the concern is goldfish provide off a slime and are very grimy nasty fish. They finally end up peeing the heck up out of the water and will develop ammonia to severe stages in the present day. Fish like betas have a not elementary time residing with goldfish becuase of the nasty physique slime they provide off. Why not detect a house for the goldfish and get some tetras fairly?

Rosy reds would be fine as tank mates for your goldfish. That should be no problem at all with or without the heater. Even with large ghost shrimp they would stand a chance of being eaten, so it's a risk.

Rosy reds are perfect for Fantails. I have seven rosy reds, one fantail, one common goldfish, one shubunkin, and one plecotmus. In the beginning, I only had the fantail and rosy reds. They seem to take to the fantail and treat it almost like their protector. I don't know about the ghost shrimp though.

Goldfish tankmates are always Goldfish..or Koi. Nothing else will be suitable enough. Nemo

None. Those gold fish will eventually outgrow the 29. Doesn't matter what filter you use.
