the word cancan is used a lot, i know its a dance,but is there any other reason this word is used when theyre not talking about dancing

The Cancan was the dance of the dancehalls of the time. It was scandalas and fabulous. The Moulin Rouge was a dancehall, so they talked about it a lot. And also when you're hearing it a lot in the movie they're actually talking about dancing, but since Baz Ludman is rather brilliant you don't notice it.

Hi. Moulin Rouge is the home of the French Cancan so i guess it is referred to a lot seeing that the dance is immortalized with the Moulin Rouge .

Because they were artists and revolutionaries. This was part of their mantra. (And it was very shocking at the time).
