The only thing that would work for my daughter was Bag Balm.Yes the stuff they use for cows.My daughter would get a rash so bad she would bleed and nothing worked for her but bag balm had her cleared up in a day.

Air exposure. Keep the area clean and dry. Change the infant as soon as the nappy/diaper is wet. Better yet, don't use a nappy for as long as possible.
For milder cases, any soothing ointment (Desitin, Diaperene, Aquaphor, A&D, etc.) is fine.
If the buttocks are really red and raw, pat some liquid Maalox over the area. Again, keep the area clean and dry.

The best is Budreaux Butt Paste. It has the highest amount of zinc oxide than anything else on the market. And they add other ingredients as well such as peruvian balsalm. Its smells really good it clears it up with in a day or so.
I will also put on an anti fungal cream the kind they use for athletes foot before i put on the butt paste. It will clear it up over nite.
You can go to their website and u can read about all the ingredients

I honestly use a mix of aquafore and baby powder that I make myself. I use the entire bottle of aquafore adding in the babypower to make a paste. I find this better then any commercial diaper rash cream
