May 5; the 125th day of the year (126th on leap years) according to the widely used Gregorian calendar. Ignorant Americans see May 5th as 'Cinco de Mayo' and believe that in dedication of Mexican Independence that we should all drink Vodka and make idiots of ourselves.
Please note that Mexico's Independence day is on September 16th. Cinco de Mayo is acknowledged as the day that Mexican forces, led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín, was victorious over French forces in the Battle of Puebla.
