1. Th fish with the bitten tail is being bullied by other fish in the tank and is afraid to venture out into the tank very much. Odds are reasonable the bullied fish is a female and the bully is a male. You can help that by adding a few more females.

2. You can, but it's better to use the stuff made for aquariums. When you buy, be sure to get a product that will neutralize both chlorine and chloramines.

3. Yes, 82 is just fine for all of those fish.

4. Refer to the answer for #1, odds are good you have bullying going on that may be fixed by the addition of more females of you may need to remove the offending fish.

To answer question 1, 3, and 4, it sounds like a territorial issue. If the one fish isn't eating and isn't active, then it is probably scared of another fish. Gourami's are very aggressive and may be the cause of it. The mollies are the same way and will also fight over food. Best think you can do is kinda watch to see which one is the bully. Temp is fine. As for question 2, no you cannot use the reptile conditioner for fish.

Use a freshwater fish conditioner(aqausafe), your temp should be 78-80*. Sounds like you have some aggressive mollies, I have over 50 mollies and no aggression! Maybe fin rot? Do weekly water changes of 25% or more and don't use your reptile water conditioner. Sounds like you have a male and female, if this is the case and you don't have any other females in the tank, the male will hound her to death, either remove her or when you get your tank in order add 2 more females!

Ok, I'll try to answer all 4

1. Stress, nothing you can do but be patient and try to leave them alone.

2. No, I only use aquarium salt for freshwater tanks to condition water. And, I've never had a fish die of anything but natural causes in years.

3.I would take it down to 78-80 degrees.

4. Some fish are naturally incompatible, if you are truly bothered you can get rid of the "ugly" fish and try to find a replacement.
