get either a rocker or a glider that actually rocks (not just slides back and forth) its the rocking motion that changes the equilibrium in the baby's ears that they find soothing. a glider that goes back and forth does not provide this rocking motion and wont sooth the baby as well as a rocking motion would. That said, I think one of the most important things to consider is what will be most comfy for you to sit in.

Glider. I saw a question on here last week where a woman was asking how to get her rocking chair to stop traveling because just as she'd rock the baby to sleep she'd bump into something because it didn't stay in one place.

Rockers aren't too bad, as long as you have a cushion on the seat. The only problem that I have with them is that they tend to migrate a bit as you rock, while gliders will for sure stay in one spot. It's not too big of an issue though, I would say go with the rocker. It's always nice when things are handed down through family :-).

Glider because if your baby gets hurt from bouncing up in down in the other chair. And it could like get a seshure. SO GLIDER HANDS DOWN!

They're both nice, but I used the Glider and loved it...either way, both will get the job done!!

i definitely say glider because its more comfortable and u can put your feet up.

i reccomend glider, they are easier, and most of the time more comfortable.
