original vol. of water = 40 x 25 x h say
new volume of water + object = 40 x 25 x (h + 3)
Increase in volume
= (40 x 25 x h) + (40 x 25 x 3) - (40 x 25 x h)
= 40 x 25 x 3
= 3000 cm³
