South Mexico is a great place to travel to, the water in most places is crystal clear and surfing is pretty common there, however its not commercialized, and there are bugs. Puerto Escondido and Puerto Angel in Oaxaca are great places. if you like the more commercialized areas, Baja California is great too, [and less bugs].
