How do I enable my wired connection and disable my wireless connection? I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and a 2Wire internet router.

I've plugged it in. I go to my control panel and go to Network Connections, but when I click on the Wired connection, it says I'm running at 400MB per second. I also have the wireless connection disabled to see if that does the trick, but it doesn't.

So, the wired connection says I'm running at 400MB p/s even though I've only plugged it in. Is there something I have to enable?

Goto your control panel and click on Network Connections.

To enable or disable a connection right click on the desired connection and select enable or disable.

Then plug a ethernet cable into your computers ethernet port and the other end into your routers ethernet port.

That should do it.

just plug in the ethernet connection to your computer from your router, it will override the wireless connection....you may have to reboot the system
