By a group of Mexicans, asking him what a bboner, asking him to suck their penis, and asking him who he wwanted to have sex with. They also hinted a threat to him, forcing him NOT to tell what they said to ANYONE (friends, parents, school staff, police, etc.) Now, for some reason, he opened up, and we're wondering what to do. He said most of this stuff goes on in P.E. (before, during, and after)

We thought about giving him a tape recorder. We are going to have him turn on the tape recorder as he approaches them and record the sexual harrassment (he said it happens on a daily basis), then tell them he was going to have a chat with the principal, "about what was going on the last 3 months", and get specific about what kind of harrassment was happening, and go on about his day. He asked, what should I do if they threaten me, we told him to say, "is that a threat? Should I talk to the principal". Then, we take the recording to the principal and police and have the kids arrested.

What do you think of the tape recorder idea? Do you suppose he might blow it or can we trust him?

He doesn't need a tape recorder, his testimony should be enough. If they catch him with a tape recorder they may hurt him. Speak to a lawyer before making any more moves.

Why are you asking here? You are an adult!
What is happening to your son is harassment at its highest level. Ever hear of taking the concerns to the principal? or the superintendent? or the Board of Education? Or the POLICE!!
Let the professionals handle it. The tape recording may be a good idea. But again, take it to a higher level.

and why in the h-l have you waited "several months"????

Record it, go about his daily life, and then when you have a clear recording arrange to meet with the principle. Do not say "is that a threat" -- it will only escalate things. Just get a recording, play it for the principle, and if they are not expelled -- have him switch schools.

Edit: Also, a couple of the answerers are giving you flak for calling them Mexicans. Unless they really are Mexicans you shouldn't call them that (it is like calling a Russian person an Englishman).

Why all the intrigue?

You and your son go to the Principal and exlain the situation, provide names and occurences and let the Principal handle it.

WHAT SORT OF A PARENT ARE YOU ? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WASTING TIME ASKING QUESTIONS ? WHY HAVE YOU NOT GONE TO THE PRINCIPAL TILL NOW ? HOW AND WHEN DID HE "OPEN UP" ? OH, BY THE WAY , WOULD IT BE OK IF THEY WERE NOT MEXICANS ? AND YOU ARE ? SORRY , BUT THERE SEEMS TO BE SOMETHING MORE TO IT , NOT AS CUT AND DRY AS YOU MAKE IT OUT TO BE.
